How Rose Pencil Drawings Form Building on Shapes and Lines
Rose pencil drawings form the basic shape of the flower's bloom. Notice that I have lifted the rose bloom off the surface by placing it on a stem.
The stem is placed off to the left just slightly to give the impression that the rose bloom is supported rather than drooping forward.
I added several leaves to the stem. It continues up behind the basic form of the rose to indicate a bud.
See how the shapes in use are manipulated circles and ovals on straight lines.

By using the line drawing as reference, you can begin practicing. Print it out and trace over it. Remember to hold the pen or pencil lightly to get the feel of the shapes in your sketching hand. This basic rose form is a foundation for a full on
rose drawing.
Keep observing roses where you live. No roses where you live? Find pictures of roses to reference as you practice drawing. You will turn what you see into a rough
rose pencil drawings sketch
with lots of practice. EXPECT success!
