When you are satisfied with the sketch then it's done. If you want to experiment with pen and ink over the pencil then do. It's useful to have a Mars Staedler or kneaded rubber eraser for the pencil lines. I use both for one reason or another. Be certain to let the ink dry completely before you try erasing.
