Pencil Drawings of People for Humor, Entertainment, Satire
Pencil drawings of people can be turned into caricatures.
Television, the movies, the press, and the Internet can influence the subjects artists select to draw. You can
show your drawings of celebrities here.
Celebrity spokespeople are paid large sums by advertisers in cosmetics, skin care, clothing, shoes, jewelry, lingerie, fragrance, accessories, lifestyle, travel, and so forth among others, to persuade the audience.
Because of their high profile, celebrity spokespeople are natural choices for artists to turn into pencil drawings.
And then there are people who are famous because of public service or scandal. Their profile raises and they too turn into drawings done by artists in pencil or charcoal stick.
Look at this pencil sketch of George W. Bush, 43rd President of the United States. It turns into a caricature when I exaggerate the forehead, eyes, jowls, and size of the head to the body. In caricature I oversimplify other characteristics such as the hand.
Caricature drawing depicts a real person, not a fictional character or cartoon being. I most often draw caricatures for entertainment purposes, corporate gift giving, or editorial.
Here you find other examples of caricature drawings finished in pencil to trace or practice freehand.
