Pencil Drawings of People Condoleeza Rice Gets Treatment
Pencil drawings of people Condoleeza Rice converts to a caricature. When we see her image in photography, the former U.S. Secretary of State is perfectly coiffed.
There is never a hair out of place whether she is in Bakersfield, Beijing or Budapest.
Buff from workouts, perfectly manicured, designer styled and dressed to exude authority and command respect, she has no fear of speaking in public.
Turning an image of Ms. Rice from a pencil drawing into a caricature can be challenging. Because when someone has regular features the artist must decide what to exaggerate.
In this example, I went with the flipped hair that can look a bit stiff. Often she is photographed with pearl earrings. She has a beaming smile that softens her controlled appearance.
Try it yourself.
Use tracing paper or a tracer light box.
Practice recreating this caricature by tracing it.
You will discover the various shapes: circles, squares, triangles, rectangles that make up the image.
By tracing you will also loosen up tight hand and arm muscles. Instead of feeling the stress and anxiety of having to create a new caricature, practice with tracing.
