Opaque Projector Delivers Superior Results
My opaque projector came in handy on a recent project. I was hired to decorate the walls of a kid's room with Disney characters. By being able to project my original drawings onto the walls, tracing and painting took less time. Show off your artwork

Opaques are a great aid to the artist. They are ideal for enlarging photos, designs, patterns, detailed drawings, murals, decorative painting,
airbrush work, signs, banners, and fine art onto walls, canvas, any vertical surface.
As the artist, you can create bright, sharp images, and achieve the professional results you and your clients want and need. Check out opaque art projectors as you keep these points in mind...
- Opaque projectors are compact and fully portable. This is a bonus when you have small studio space, or have to take it on location. Some sit only on a tabletop. Others have some height and tilt adjustment.
- The best ones have ground optical lenses for unsurpassed clarity, resolution, color balance, and brightness.

- Lights have to be bright. You'll find the opaque projection models starting with one 250 watt bulb, up to 500 watts of color corrected light, and halogen bulbs, too.
- If you can afford a projector with fan cooling, buy it. You will find that the fan cooling allows for longer periods of projection.
- Each of the projectors I have looked at and used have top loading 6 inch by 6 inch areas to safely latch or clip-in your artwork or image and keep it secure. A more expensive model can have a removable cover to project oversized artwork as well as three-dimensional objects.
- Select a projector that can enlarge to wall size or up to 3000 percent. And you want it to be able to reduce - most of them reduce to 70 percent of original size.
Once you figure out which of the opaque projection models you prefer, then you have to decide what to set it on.
Invest in a stand. A stand is the best way to eliminate the frustration of having to project from a flat surface. There are basically two styles of opaque projection model stands.
The first is an art projector table stand and it can work for simple height and tilt adjustments.
The opaque art projector floor stand is the one I use regularly because is has a tray top and you can place any art projector on it.
It eliminates the stress and frustration of having to project from a flat surface. As an artist, it is critical for me to be able to point the projector at my canvas -- whether it is a wall or square of wood -- at precisely the right height and angle to facilitate tracing.
And it is completely portable folding easily and compactly.
The projector floor stand delivers "rock steady" image projection whether the projector sits at 50 inches or 77 inches (127 cm or 196 cm) off the floor. It is sturdy and unbeatable for height and angle adjustments to get just what I am looking for and continue the art project uninterrupted.
