Fairy Drawings Colored Mural From Pastel Pencils Art
Fairy drawings colored based on fairy tales became popular centuries ago. It was a way for an artist to strengthen a story through visual imagery.
And it was a way for people who could not read to become interested in a story from the image alone.
In the twentieth century Walt Disney Studio created memorable images in stories as diverse as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King, to name a few.
It is up to the story writer, the story animators, the colorists, and many others to bring stories to life through film.
When creating line drawings, I prefer using pigmented ink pens because they are are acid-free, archival and permanent making them ideal for illustration or any application requiring precision.
Unlike dye-based ink found in most pens and markers, pigmented ink in pens will not feather or bleed, even through the thinnest paper. Ink in pigmented ink pens is derived from a single pigment to ensure color consistency. It is fadeproof against sunlight or UV light. And the pigmented ink pens will not clog or dry out like most mechanical pens.
To this very day, story animation starts as it has for decades: sketching and drawing by hand. It does not start in a computer drawing program. The hand rendered drawings and sketches deliver a feeling in the art computers are yet to produce.
Fairies come in all shapes and sizes. What they have in common is that they look human and have magical powers.
Fairy drawings colored come in many different styles. The one following is colored with pastel pencils from the original
pigmented ink pen line drawing of fairies.

You can see from this fairy drawings colored illustration that fairies are fun to draw. And fun to color with pastel pencils or other medium.
A finished piece like this one becomes a wall mural by using an
opaque projector
to recreate this drawing or one of your own on canvas, wood, a wall or other vertical surface.
And you can see my
pigmented ink pen version of the fairy illustration.
This one you can trace and keep practicing so that you hand follows your eye as it follows the illustration. When you trace it allows your hand to get used to drawing the basic shapes that make up the image.
The pigmented ink pen version of the fairy illustration is an advanced drawing. Pigmented ink pens are ideal for turning a drawing into an illustration. Link work is a precision drawing technique. I recommend use pigmented acid free ink pens. These are made for precision drawing techniques. Archival black ink is a must have in a variety of sizes: .20mm, .25mm, .30mm, .35mm, .45mm, .50mm.
I prefer using pigmented ink pens because they are are acid-free, archival and permanent making them ideal for illustration or any application requiring precision. They come in at least fifteen colors: black, sepia, blue, blue/black, royal blue, burgundy, red, rose, green, fresh green, hunter green, brown, orange, purple and yellow.
Ink in pigmented ink pens is derived from a single pigment to ensure color consistency. Unlike dye-based ink found in most pens and markers, pigmented ink in pens will not feather or bleed, even through the thinnest paper. It is fadeproof against sunlight or UV light.
Although pigmented ink pens are not refillable, they will not clog or dry out like most mechanical pens, so they last depending on usage.
