Butterfly Drawings Profile
Captures Feeding Pose

Butterfly drawings profile illustration below shows a different view of the insect. Artists need to become very familiar with the anatomy of living creatures: how they move and change shapes to get a realistic depiction.

This is true whether you draw freehand or digitally.

Many of the insects and animals artists draw are unavailable to us at the time the picture is being drawn.

Even when the creature is at hand, it's almost impossible to get them to model for us. So the artist has to imagine how a certain creature will look in a required position, even if you have assistance from a reference photograph.

That's the reason to have a thorough knowledge of structure and anatomy.

Try your hand at the following illustration. Keep practicing. I designed a free privacy door hanger template you can download and customize with a butterfly and message to mark quiet time in your creative work space.
